Overview

With a dedicated cadre of veterinary specialists and technical staff, Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine has a successful history of collaborations with pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies in pre-clinical research for human health product development. Particular areas of expertise include orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, pulmonology, and pathology. The school's ability to work in large animal models is unique to the region, and its portfolio includes dedicated research facilities, a science park, incubator space, and ABSL-3 space. The school maintains herds of livestock that can be used as laboratory animals for unique human health product research. We also have, through our patients, spontaneous animal models of many human diseases.
