The MBTA Green Line extension’s Medford branch opened early Monday morning. The new branch connects Tufts University at College Station and runs through Ball Square, Magoun Square, Gilman Square, and East Somerville stations. The MBTA predicts the new branch will serve 50,000 trips per day.
