BOSTON – May 4, 2023 – Andrew (A.J.) Tibbetts, shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, participated in the MassMEDIC webinar, “HealthGPT? Benefits, Risks, and Effective Uses of Generative AI in Medtech,” May 2.
The panel discussed the current wave of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) products and the impact they may have on the medical industry. Tibbetts has over a decade of experience working with Large Language Models and natural language generation AI. Using this knowledge, he discussed legal issues to keep in mind when choosing a service or building tech, such as privacy policies, what to look for in terms of service, and the nuance of AI generated diagnoses.
Tibbetts, an Intellectual Property & Technology shareholder in the firm’s Boston office, leverages prior experience as a software engineer to provide practical intellectual property strategy counseling on matters related to software-implemented tech across a range of industries, from networking, fintech, and natural language processing through to life sciences, artificial intelligence, medical records, and medical devices.
